Renowned cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleman, the founder and senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International has recounted an encounter he had with a bishop who openly consumed alcohol while on a flight.

In a recent sermon to members, he spoke on the dangers of compromise and emphasized how seemingly small actions could open doors to severe consequences.

“There are people Satan is just waiting for—just one tiny compromise,” he said. “You are depressed and take a cigarette—cancer! You take alcohol—kidney problem!”

Apostle Suleman narrated how he was on a plane when a flight attendant offered him alcohol, despite witnessing passengers greeting him as a pastor.

“She asked, ‘Which one do you want—whiskey, brandy, champagne, red wine?’” he recalled. “I told her, ‘I don’t drink.’ But she kept insisting, even asking me to take just a sip of champagne.”

However, what shocked him the most was the reaction of a bishop sitting beside him.

“They offered him a shot, and he took it. Then he asked for another. And another,” Suleman said.

Unable to hold back, the preacher confronted the bishop.

“The third time, I told him, ‘Bishop, you’re a drunkard!’ He said, ‘That’s too harsh!’ I told him again, ‘You’re a drunkard!’

Suleman highlighted the struggle of many believers who are bound by habits such as alcohol consumption. He stressed the importance of self-discipline and being conscious of one’s future.

“If you knew where you were going, you would know how to live,” he advised. “Some of you young ladies—if you knew who you were going to marry, there are things you wouldn’t post online!”
