In a powerful and moving sermon, Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre shared a story that left many listeners challenged and inspired. His message wasn’t just about generosity, but about the moral responsibility of those whom God has blessed, especially when faced with situations that threaten the growth of the body of Christ.

According to Pastor Enenche, wealth is not meant to be hoarded or enjoyed within the narrow walls of personal relationships. It is a divine tool that should be used to uplift others—especially when their faith, hope, or ministry is under attack. He recounted an event that exemplifies this principle: a church, unknown to him personally, was on the verge of being lost to another religion due to financial constraints.

“One day,” he said during the sermon, “they came to tell me that a church was about to be sold. A particular church was meeting in a place for rent and they wanted to sell the church building where they were already holding services. The congregation didn’t have the money to buy the property, and people of another religion wanted to purchase it and turn it into their place of worship.”

The situation was dire. The church in question had no resources to save their spiritual home, and if nothing was done, it would be converted into a center for another faith. Pastor Enenche, though having no prior connection with the pastor or the congregation, made a swift and sacrificial decision.

“When I heard that,” he continued, “I said, not in my own lifetime, not while I’m alive. I asked, ‘How much is the money?’ And they told us. We had to buy the church for another church. I don’t know the pastor till today. I don’t need to know him. I’m not interested in knowing him.”

The information had come through the CAN (Christian Association of Nigeria) chairman of that state. Moved by urgency and conviction, Pastor Enenche intervened, embodying the principle that the Church is one body, and the struggle of one is the concern of all.

His act reminds believers that the boundaries of support should never be confined to friendship or familiarity. True kingdom service reaches out to strangers, uplifts the weak, and defends the faith wherever it’s being threatened. His story is more than a testimony—it’s a call to action for every Christian blessed with means and opportunity.
