A Senator Representing Abia South, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has expressed concern over the current economic situation while emphasizing the important of learning from the End SARS movement. He warned that similar occurrences could easily reemerge if the current administration continues to dismiss the warnings and concerns voiced by the opposition.
He passionately urged the Federal government to reconsider its current trajectory. According to him, the nation is plagued by significant issues that are not being addressed. He stated that the inability to safely walk the streets and the widespread suffering experienced by the populace are clear indicators of underlying problems.
He said in an interview with Channels TV from 41:27, ”The unfortunate thing is that we seem not to learn from history. What happened in End Sars can happen again and that is why we are shouting now. But they are saying don’t mind them it is the opposition and that what do you expect them to say.
But I’m also using this opportunity to plead with the Federal government, we need to reverse the way we are going. We just seem to act as if there is no problem whereas we can’t walk on the street. Everyone is suffering in a way or the other. And those of us who have access to our people, we see it on a daily basis and the pressures are mounting. And it will explore one day and there is absolutely no way you can continue to keep your people down. And the best way is for the government to listen to the people.”….Seë_Morë
