Umar Sani, a member of the PDP, recently spoke about the strategy behind Governor Sim Fubara’s loyalists moving to the Action Peoples Party (APP) ahead of the Rivers State local government elections.

In a live coverage by Arise TV from 5:53, Sani said it is part of a broader plan for Fubara to build his own political structure. He said Fubara’s goal is to establish his own political base with the APP and eventually bring his loyalists back to the PDP. He said this would enable him to build a political structure independent of Wike’s influence.

Sani said Fubara wants to show that the people of Rivers State support him and he can defeat Wike’s political faction

In Sani’s words: “What Fubara is trying to show Wike is that go on with your structure in PDP, we are going to flog you. We are going to defeat you because the people are with me wherever I go”
