Senator Adams Oshiomhole has shared a story from when he was the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to praise the leadership style of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a video shared by TV Platinum, Oshiomhole said that during his time as chairman, some APC governors went to then-President Buhari to make some allegations against him (Oshiomhole). He said the allegations were not supported with any real evidence.
Oshiomhole said that instead of taking sides, President Buhari showed that he was a principled leader. He said Buhari told the governors that party issues should be handled by the party chairman, not the president. He said Buhari directed his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, to lead the governors to meet with him (Oshiomhole) to resolve their issues.
Oshiomhole said the governors later came to his office and confessed to him that their allegations were false. He praised Buhari for standing by him and respecting party structures. He said Buhari allowed him to do his job without interference and supported him when necessary.
In Oshiomhole’s words: “Those governors came to my office. And because what they wanted to do with President Buhari in my absence they could not do it, in the end, one after the other they confessed that they really did not have valid allegations”
