Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Tinubu, has addressed ongoing discussions about national unity during a recent appearance on PAPShow.
Speaking about separatist sentiments in certain regions, Bwala stated, “We have been hearing agitation for breakaway from certain people in the Southeast for God knows how long. Has it happened? Nigeria is solidly solid as a united Nigeria.”
The presidential adviser acknowledged existing challenges while emphasizing current reconciliation efforts. “We have disappointments because of the political class, but effort is being made, and you can see what the president is doing in terms of unifying the people,” Bwala explained.
He referenced a recent high-level meeting as evidence of the administration’s progress in fostering national cohesion. “Two days ago, when the Northeast governors’ forum visited the president, which I was privileged to anchor, they told the president how much he has done in northeastern Nigeria,” Bwala noted.
The remarks come amid ongoing discussions about regional tensions and the federal government’s approach to addressing concerns across Nigeria’s diverse geographical zones.
