In a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos, Adetokunbo Pearse, a key figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former member of Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 Campaign Committee, shared his optimism about the party’s chances in the next election. He acknowledged that the last election was fiercely contested, which enhances his hope for a positive outcome.

According to Daily Post, Pearse pointed out that the PDP currently governs 12 states and controls about 40% of the National Assembly seats. He mentioned that winning just a few crucial state elections could enable the PDP to unseat the APC.

He also stressed the necessity of unity within the party, calling for efforts to reconnect with members who may have shifted their support to the Labour Party or other opposition groups. Pearse highlighted the importance of mobilizing party leaders to improve the PDP’s odds in the forthcoming elections.
