According to a report from Punch, Government Ekpemupolo, known as Tompolo, and the Yoruba Aborigines Progressive Initiative (YAPI) have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term. “Tinubu is a leader who thrives under pressure,” Tompolo said. “His bold decisions are driving national progress.” YAPI’s chairman, Olushola John, also praised Tinubu’s policies. “The student loan program, removal of Customs duties on pharmaceuticals, and efforts to stabilize food prices show his commitment to the people,” he said.

The Yoruba group highlighted Tinubu’s major reforms. “The removal of fuel subsidies, refinery revitalization, and the Supreme Court ruling on local government autonomy are key milestones,” John said. Tompolo, who chairs Tantita Security Services, pledged Niger Delta support for Tinubu’s re-election. “We will stand with him beyond 2027,” he said. “He has tackled oil theft and pipeline vandalism, increasing crude production from 600,000 to 1.8 million barrels per day.”

Ekpemupolo outlined Tinubu’s other achievements. “The government has raised revenue to N9.1 trillion, reduced debt servicing costs, and cleared $5 billion in foreign exchange obligations,” he said. “Tinubu is also investing in infrastructure, from the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to the Sokoto-Badagry Highway and the Nigeria Maritime University.”

YAPI’s spokesperson, Olatubosun Awonuga, reinforced their stance. “Many groups support Tinubu,” he said. “His reforms, including subsidy removal and forex restructuring, are reshaping Nigeria. We fully back his vision for continuity.
