Former Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has voiced strong doubts about U.S. reliability in nuclear negotiations.
According to report by IRNA, on Wednesday February 11, 2026, Araghchi recalled that talks held last June were disrupted when the U.S. launched an attack, an incident he described as a damaging experience that deepened Iran’s mistrust.
He explained that Iran is prepared to provide assurances that it will not pursue nuclear weapons, but emphasized that the U.S. and its allies must guarantee Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear technology for electricity generation, medicine, agriculture, and other civilian uses.
According to him, such reciprocal guarantees are achievable if both sides demonstrate goodwill.
Araghchi stressed that Iran remains committed to a diplomatic resolution while preparing for the possibility of renewed conflict. He argued that there is no alternative to diplomacy in resolving the nuclear issue, noting that technological progress cannot be destroyed through military threats or bombings.
According to him,
“We still do not have full trust in Americans. We were in the middle of negotiations last June when they decided to attack us. That was a very bad experience for us.” See_More…
