The leader of a faction of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, during an interview with The Punch correspondent, spoke on why the group is against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
During the interview, Olaitan made allegations that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, has been spending money on irrelevant projects.
While citing an example, he mentioned that there was a new development emerging, which he described as completely novel and unlike anything they had seen before. He explained that the Department of State Services, a security agency of the country, was now building Islamic study houses in the name of the President, despite Nigeria being a secular nation. He questioned the direction in which the country was heading and urged Nigerians to wake up, insisting that the situation was not a joke.
He reiterated his concern that the authorities were taking the citizens for a ride and warned that if people did not raise their voices, only God knew what more the leaders had planned. He concluded by asserting that those in power did not care about the welfare of the ordinary citizens.
He said, “There’s a new one coming up now and it is completely novel. We’ve never seen anything like this before. The Department of State Services (DSS), a security unit of this country, is building Islamic study houses in the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a secular country.”
Further talking, Olaitan said, “Where are we going ? Nigerians must wake up. This is not a joke. They are taking us for a ride. If we do not shout out, only God knows what’s left up their sleeves. They do not care about you.”
