According to Iran International, tensions in the Middle East have reached an alarming peak as Iran and Israel are now actively engaged in warfare, with multiple airstrikes exchanged between both nations. Amid escalating conflict, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has firmly declared that Iran will not surrender its nuclear ambitions, even in the face of intensified military pressure from Israel and the United States. His remarks, delivered during an interview with the London-based New Arab, underscore Iran’s unwavering commitment to its nuclear program.

“We have made tremendous efforts to achieve this technology, and our scientists have made enormous sacrifices, even losing their lives for this goal,” Araghchi stated with resolve. He emphasized the depth of Iran’s investment—both human and financial—in acquiring nuclear capabilities. The Foreign Minister pointed to years of enduring international sanctions and the weight of external conflicts that, he said, have failed to dissuade the Iranian people. “Our people have endured sanctions for this, and a war was imposed on our nation over this issue. No one in Iran will abandon this technology,” he added.

Pressed on whether Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) might shift, Araghchi hinted at a possible reassessment. “I imagine that our outlook on the nuclear program and the non-proliferation regime will undergo changes, though I cannot yet determine their direction,” he said. His words suggest a pivotal moment in Iran’s nuclear diplomacy, as the region faces the real and growing threat of a broader and more devastating confrontation.
