According to a report by The Punch, the Lagos State Government has refuted claims by Mr. Peter Obi that the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) demolished his brother’s property.
Dr. Olajide Abiodun Babatunde, Special Adviser on eGIS & Urban Development, who oversees LASBCA, confirmed the agency’s non-involvement.
Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, expressed concern over Obi’s unverified allegations, emphasizing the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring resident safety.
In an official statement, the Lagos State Government clarified that no state agency executed the alleged demolition. It described Obi’s claims as baseless and urged the public to disregard them.

To address the issue transparently, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Urban Development, Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki, FNIA, was directed to initiate a thorough investigation by LASBCA.
