The escalating attacks by the Islamic Republic-backed Houthis on commercial vessels in the Red Sea have heightened regional tensions, prompting a strong response from Germany.
According to a report by Independent Persian on X on Thursday, July 10, 2025, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul condemned the Houthi assaults, urging Iran to leverage its authority to halt these disruptive actions.
“We condemn the Houthi attacks in the strongest terms and expect Iran to use its influence on the Houthis to prevent these attacks,” Wadephul declared, standing alongside Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz.
