Prominent activist and leader Ann-Kio Briggs has spoken out about the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. She emphasized that the situation is dangerous and could affect not just the state but the entire Niger Delta and even Nigeria’s economy.

In a video that was shared by SYMFONI TV from 0.27, Speaking at a meeting of the Rivers State Elders and Leaders Forum, she expressed frustration that despite many efforts to resolve the crisis, the problems have not gone away. She stressed the need for truth and fairness in leadership, saying that the issue is not about individuals but about the progress of Rivers State and its people.

Ann-Kio also raised concerns about how court judgments are being misinterpreted. She pointed out a recent case involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara, where he withdrew his legal case because the situation had changed. However, some people wrongly claimed that he had lost the case. She warned that such misinterpretations could cause more division in the state.

She urged supporters of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former governor, Nyesom Wike, to accept the fact that Fubara is the current governor and should be allowed to lead without interference. According to her, Rivers State does not need more conflicts, and leaders must focus on development instead of political battles.

Ann-Kio Briggs called for peace and urged all parties to respect the law and work together for the good of the state.
