The former Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Political Matters, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has spoken about the upcoming presidential election in 2027.
His statement was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Sunday. This statement is coming after he resigned from his position as Tinubu’s aide.
In the post that surfaced online, he said the next election will be different from the previous ones because the North won’t be deceived anymore. He said the North will be very careful going into the next election because the next President will only be voted based on competence and character and not based on religion or ethnicity.
He however, urged the region to look beyond identity politics.
He was quoted as saying that;
“We are tired of being deceived into voting based on religion or ethnicity. That era is over. We just want a right leader. Let him fall from heaven. We just want someone who will solve our problems.
