According to a report that was published on the official X account of THE CABLE on Sunday, August 24, 2025, the former Vice President of Nigeria and PDP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar has stated that the African Democratic Congress, ADC is not going to impose anybody on the people.
Atiku Abubakar made the statement through Professor Ola Olateju who represented him at an event in Lagos state.
Ola Olateju said the former Vice President is not desperate to become the President of Nigeria. He said Atiku Abubakar is also willing to support anyone who emerges through a free and fair primary election under the African Democratic Congress.
He said everyone in the ADC has the right to contest for the party ticket. Olateju said the ADC has come to wrestle power from the All Progressive Congress, APC and give good governance to the people of Nigeria. He said the ADC didn’t emerge to nurture the ambition of anybody.
According to THE CABLE, Ola Olateju said that;
“We are not imposing anyone on the people. Whoever emerges through free and fair contest, we will all support. The point is a better Nigeria, not Atiku for President at all costs”.
