In a revealing interview aired on Fox News, a senior spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) offered a rare glimpse into Israel’s current military strategy against Iran, saying the goal is to ensure Tehran remains in a constant state of “disarray.”
“We want to make sure they are in disarray, that they have a hard time carrying out operations,” the spokesperson said. “Obviously if we don’t keep pushing all the time, they might change.
They might regroup, they might rearrange but we are pushing all the time. We are hunting down their commanders, we are hunting down their missile launches making sure they don’t have a second to regroup and rearrange their operations.”
The remarks come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following a series of reported Israeli airstrikes on Iranian-linked targets in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Israel has long viewed Iran’s regional influence particularly through proxy groups like Hezbollah as a strategic threat.
According to regional analysts, the aggressive posture signals a shift from reactive defense to preemptive disruption. “Israel’s strategy now is not just containment, but constant disruption,” said a senior fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv.
Tehran has yet to respond officially to the latest statements, but Iranian state media condemned recent Israeli strikes as “acts of aggression” and vowed retaliation.

International observers warn that continued escalation risks broader conflict. However, Israeli officials appear undeterred. “We cannot afford to let them breathe,” the spokesperson concluded. “Every second we give them is a second they use to prepare attacks.”
The international community continues to monitor the situation as fears grow of a wider confrontation in an already volatile region.
