Pastor Tunde Bakare recently spoke out about the ongoing feud between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, following the actions that led to Akpoti-Uduaghan being silenced. Bakare criticized the Nigerian Senate for silencing voices that demand moral accountability, focusing on Akpoti-Uduaghan’s demand for Senate President Akpabio to uphold the moral standards of his office.
He said, “The Senate shamelessly deed to silence Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for demanding that the president of the Nigerian Senate still uphold the moral standard required of that office.” This comment highlights the strong position taken by Bakare against the treatment of Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Bakare condemned the “brazen abuse of power” and the attack on democratic institutions in Nigeria. He further stated that “the two main contenders in the ongoing institutional immorality Olympics are the executive and the legislature,” implying the critical role of these branches of government in undermining the nation’s constitutional structures.
Describing the situation as a “descent into tyranny,” Bakare condemned the manipulation of political power, stating, “the theater of their abd in River State with puppets on sin control by directors in Abuja,” emphasizing the manipulation of political figures at the state level.
