Umar Sani, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that a recent media report claimed that governors, senators, and House of Representatives members who defect from the PDP to the APC receive huge financial rewards. He said the report has not been refuted by any individual or government body.
In an interview with TVC from 18:15, Sani stated that, according to the report, every governor who joins the APC is allegedly given 250 billion naira. He said no official from the APC or the presidency has denied this claim. He also stated that the same report claimed that each senator who defects to the APC is given 1 billion naira, while House of Representatives members who defect from PDP to APC receive 500 million naira.
Sani added that he considers these claims credible since they have not been publicly debunked by the presidency or the APC.
In Sani’s words: “They said every governor that is moving from PDP to APC is given 250 billion naira. Nobody said it is a lie. They said every senator that is moving from PDP to APC gets 1 billion naira, nobody has questioned that, nobody has said it is a lie, nobody has clarified. Again they said any House of Reps member moving from PDP to APC gets 500 million naira.
