Following the recent decision of the administration of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump to designated the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) for religious freedom, a prominent American Republican Senator Lindsey Graham had publicly implored President Donald Trump of the United States of America that he should authorized military assistance to Nigeria, framing the escalating violence as a religious genocide against Christians.

According to a post made by the Republican United States of America Senator, Senator Lindsey Graham Via his official X account, the American Senator, explicitly labeled the systematic attacks on Christian communities as genocide, identifying the primary perpetrators as Boko Haram and other radical Islamic groups, whom he accused of posing a threat to humanity, not just to Africa.

He also described the level of depravity and barbaric behavior humanitarian catastrophe as being beyond description, stating “I hope that President Trump will provide military assistance to prevent the further slaughter of Christians in Nigeria. This is religious genocide. Boko Haram and other radical Islamic groups in the region pose a threat to humanity, not just to Africa. The level of depravity and barbaric behavior is beyond description. President Trump would serve the world well by protecting the innocent from out of control violence. This is a worthy cause for our men and women in uniform.”

The American veteran Senator, Lindsey Graham went further to asserts that with three years left in the term of President Donald Trump as the President of America, President Trump had a window to do as much good as he could and that protecting Christians in Nigeria would be fulfilling that mandate, positioning a potential military action not just as a strategic move, but as a morally righteous cause.
