Activist Stephen Osemwegie has reacted to Donald Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) and his threat of a possible military intervention to flush out terrorists in Nigeria. Osemwegie, who is the leader of the Save Nigeria Movement, stated that Nigerians should be grateful to Trump instead of jumping on the bandwagon of claiming that he is allegedly trying to exploit Nigeria’s resources.

Osemwegie in the interview noted that this was the first time someone in the White House had shown genuine concern about saving Nigerians, especially considering what the country has been through over the years. Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, he said:

“This is the first time we have a President in the White House who is interested in actually saving the lives of Nigerians.”

According to Osemwegie, Trump had clearly given the Nigerian government time to eliminate the terrorists, and instead of twisting facts and narratives, Nigerians should appreciate that, for the first time in a long while, someone in the White House genuinely cares about what is happening in the country. He added:

“If I were the Nigerian government, I would say, go and be grateful. For the first time, the United States, with all its might, is willing to help you end what you clearly cannot handle.”
