Media mogul and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant in 2023, Dele Momodu, has reacted to the recent report that Turkey, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ethiopia have stripped Nigerians of visa-on-arrival and e-visas.

According to the media reports, Ethiopia, UAE and Turkey have stripped Nigerian passport holders of the privileges they were enjoying in the past, which include visa-on-arrival and outright issuance of passport.

It was gathered that Turkey has announced that it will no longer allow Nigerian passport holders to obtain Turkish e-visa, a process that used to be enjoyed seamlessly by Nigerians in the past.

It should be recalled that in 2022, the UAE had banned Nigerians from entering its capital city, Dubai. The development had drawn mixed reactions from several Nigerians, and many had called on the Nigerian government to intervene in the matter.

The Nigerian government has on several occasions tried to intervene in the matter, but the visa ban is yet to be lifted.

The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, had announced that the UAE visa ban will be lifted in October, and many Nigerians have been waiting to see if that will happen.

Similarly, two years ago, Ethiopia had also stopped issuing visa-on-arrival to Nigerians, and they are yet to review it.

While reacting to the recent report that Turkey, Ethiopia and UAE have stripped Nigerians of visa-on-arrival and e-visa, Dele Momodu lamented that Nigerians are among the brightest people in the world, and that the country needs some positive news.

In the statement he made on X on Thursday, he said, “Too much bad news. God, we need positive news because innocent Nigerians are among the brightest and greatest human beings on the planet.”…..Sée Moré
