Amidst the ongoing efforts of the administration of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin to bring an end to the prolonged Ukrainian war that resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, the Russian Federation had declared that the momentum for a Ukraine peace deal, born from a high-profile summit between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, was now largely exhausted, underscoring how initial diplomatic gains have been eroded by fundamental disagreements over critical issues like land swaps and security guarantees for Ukraine, leaving the continent once again on the brink of escalation.

According to a report by Anadolu English on Wednesday 8 October, 2025, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Ryabkov, placed the blame for the exhaustion of the momentum for a Ukraine peace deal, born from a high-profile summit between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump squarely on the efforts of supporters of the war to the last Ukrainian among Europeans.

He also accused European powers of engaging in destructive activity that had stifled the progress made in Alaska, revealing the growing frustration of the Russian Federation under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin with a unified European front that had, thus far, resisted pressure to abandon Kyiv.

In his words, Sergey Ryabkov said “Unfortunately, it must be acknowledged that the powerful impetus of Anchorage in favor of agreements has been largely exhausted by the efforts of opponents and the efforts of supporters of the war to the last Ukrainian among Europeans. This is the result of destructive activity, primarily by Europeans, which we speak about openly and directly.”

Regarding the ongoing speculation that the American Government under the leadership of President Donald Trump would supply Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles, a weapon capable of striking deep inside Russian territory, the top Russian diplomat, Ryabkov urged the American Government to approach the matter with soberly, sensibly, and responsibility, reaffirming Moscow’s position that the use of such missiles would be impossible without direct American involvement.

He also warned that those pushing for the decision were well aware of the depth, and gravity of the consequences, stating “The US leadership and military should approach the matter soberly, sensibly, and responsibly. The potential use of Tomahawk missiles can only be possible with the direct involvement of American personnel. I hope that those pushing Washington to make this decision are well aware of the depth and gravity of the consequences. Russia will respond to any potential travel restrictions for Russian diplomats across the EU with similar restrictions” See, More, Here>>>
