Former Labour Party member Kenneth Okonkwo has spoken on the insecurity challenges that have ravaged the northern part of the country. In an interview aired on Channels Television on Friday from 15:50, he claimed that nothing was effectively done by the Federal Government when several people were killed in Plateau State.
Kenneth Okonkwo noted that the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, cried out for immediate intervention from the Federal Government, which was not provided to urgently curtail the situation. He asserted that the Media Aide to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu surprisingly shifted the responsibility to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, telling him to mind his business and take care of his people.
He said: “You saw what is happening in Plateau State, they killed the first 50 something persons, the Governor of Plateau State screamed, what did this government do, nothing. Within 48 hours, they killed more people going to 100 and you know what the media aide of the President said?, go and mind your business, go and take care of your people, shifting responsibility”.
Kenneth Okonkwo also noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was in Paris when the massacre occurred in Plateau State and did not deem it necessary to hastily return to the country to tackle the crisis.
