Veteran journalist and politician, Chief Dele Momodu, has accused President Bola Tinubu of using Nyesom Wike to weaken the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), believing Wike, who built his political career in PDP, is now working against the party’s survival, during an interview with NIGERIAN TRIBUNE.
Momodu stated that Wike owes everything he has today to PDP but has turned against it and accused Wike of causing division within the party while enjoying the protection of Tinubu’s government.
He said Tinubu and Wike are using each other, but their alliance will not last.
According to Momodu, PDP leaders are afraid to act against Wike.
He said they are allowing one man to hold the party hostage and warned that if PDP leaders do not take action, the party could collapse.
He described the crisis as a dangerous situation and compared it to a boil on the body that must be treated immediately.
He warned that those who think they will benefit from PDP’s downfall may also face political extinction.
Momodu also noted that Tinubu is using Wike because it suits his political interests, however, he warned that power is temporary.
He said those who betray their political roots will eventually lose credibility.
He urged PDP leaders to take control of their party before it is too late.
“I can see that a lot of our leaders at the top are shaking with trepidation and I don’t know why. They are shaking and have allowed one young man, who made everything from PDP, to control PDP and they have no solution to how to get rid of him. Now they are being protected by the government of Tinubu, there is nothing special about them. It is not that they are super human beings. The day they leave power they would find out because it suits Tinubu now to use them – they are using Tinubu and Tinubu is using them. At the end of the day nobody can trust a man who slaps his mother in the marketplace,” he said
