The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has alleged that no minister in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet has received a car allowance in the last one year of his administration. He urged investigative journalists to delve into the financial details of public officers, especially the ministers.

He underscored the administration’s commitment to prudent expenditure and efficient allocation of resources as contrary to popular misconceptions. He highlighted instances where memos regarding procurement, even for the executive council, were halted by the President himself who demonstrating fiscal restraint and prioritization of resources for the people.

He said in an interview with TVC From 22:37, ”This particular government has been sacrificing a lot. There is a wrong notion that has been peddled by some people within the media space to discredit the President. In not less than two occasions has memo that have to do with procurement even for the President of executive council and the President will say step it down. And I can tell you this for a fact and any member of FEC can confirm this.

There is no minister in Tinubu’s cabinet that has gotten a car allowance in the last one year. I believe investigative journalists should be able to go into the details of payments of public officers especially the ministers. You will appreciate how far this particular government have been able to manage resources within it cabinet. And it’s not exactly what people think.
