Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a stern warning to Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), cautioning that the party risks defeat in future elections if it continues under its current national chairman.
Speaking on Friday during a press briefing in Lagos from 3:00, Ayodele stated that the APC’s national leadership lacks the political capacity and vision to secure victory, warning that internal divisions could further weaken the party.
“With this your current national chairman, you won’t win. The man doesn’t have the capacity. You won’t win,” Ayodele declared. “This is a very important warning to the APC. If they continue with him, the opposition will take advantage of their weakness.”
Ayodele, known for his outspoken political prophecies and social commentary, stressed that the party’s leadership crisis is deepening at a time when Nigerians are growing increasingly frustrated with the state of governance. He urged APC stakeholders to urgently address the internal wrangling and leadership vacuum if they hope to maintain relevance.
“The APC is already losing goodwill among the people because of economic hardship, insecurity, and poor communication. A weak national chairman will only make matters worse,” he said.
Political analysts have also noted that the APC faces mounting challenges ahead of the next general elections. With the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regrouping and smaller parties seeking alliances, the ruling party’s internal cohesion will be crucial.
Some insiders within the APC have expressed dissatisfaction with the chairman’s leadership style, citing inadequate consultation, lack of grassroots mobilization, and failure to unify warring factions. Ayodele’s warning appears to echo these concerns, raising further questions about the party’s preparedness.
“This is not just about prophecy; it is about political reality,” Ayodele added. “The APC must rethink its leadership if it wants to remain in power. Otherwise, it will be swept aside.”
The ruling party has yet to issue an official response to Ayodele’s comments. However, his warning is likely to spark renewed debate within APC ranks, especially as the party begins early preparations for the next election cycle.
