In a recent video posted on Facebook, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, issued a direct message to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to urgently address the rising cost of food in Nigeria.

The cleric stressed that food security is central to the survival of the government and its acceptance by the people.

He argued that no amount of political maneuvering or electoral strategy would guarantee Tinubu’s support if Nigerians continued to face hunger and hardship.

“Bring the price of food down, let Nigerians eat morning, night, afternoon, you will see that they will vote you, but the more you are making it difficult, they won’t vote you, and rigging will not even work,” Primate Ayodele warned.

Ayodele explained that widespread hunger is pushing citizens into frustration and anger, which could translate into rejection of the government during elections.

He insisted that addressing food inflation should take priority over long-term projects, as feeding the people is the most direct way to earn their trust and support.

His remarks come amid growing public concern about the high cost of living in the country, driven by persistent inflation, currency depreciation, and the ripple effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Primate Ayodele has often used his platform to comment on national issues, urging leaders to focus on the welfare of citizens rather than political gains. His latest statement reflects mounting frustration among ordinary Nigerians who are demanding immediate relief measures from the Tinubu administration.
