According to report by Vanguard on Sunday, October 5, 2025, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor and leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan to ignore appeals for him to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate warned that Jonathan would face certain defeat against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu if he decided to run.

Jandor described Jonathan’s potential return as a political miscalculation, asserting that those urging him to challenge Tinubu were misleading him.

He said Tinubu remains a dominant force in Nigerian politics, unmatched in strategy and experience.

According to him, “Tinubu is a master of political game. He’s not someone Jonathan or anyone else can defeat in 2027.” Jandor noted that Tinubu’s rise to power was hard-earned, contrasting it with Jonathan’s relatively easier ascent to the presidency, which he attributed to chance rather than political strength.

He urged Jonathan to remain in retirement and listen to his wife, Patience Jonathan, who also advised against another presidential bid.

Jandor praised President Tinubu’s performance so far, particularly his economic reforms, which he said were gradually yielding positive results for Nigeria’s economy.

He commended Tinubu for ending the fuel subsidy regime and redistributing national resources equitably among federal, state, and local governments.

According to Jandor, these reforms have increased allocations to states and local councils, empowering them to improve citizens’ lives.

He contrasted this with the Buhari era, when many states received little or no funds after FAAC meetings. He also lauded Tinubu for stabilizing the foreign exchange market and eliminating corrupt practices that once enriched a few individuals.

While acknowledging that the reforms have caused temporary hardship, Jandor urged state and local governments to use their improved revenues to cushion the impact on the people.

He emphasized that Tinubu has shown courage and vision in economic management and called on the armed forces to support the President in addressing the country’s security challenges. See, More, Here>>>
