Veteran Nollywood actor Lere Paimo, also known as Eda Onileola, has revealed his connection with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while also stating why the president gave him some money when he went to visit him in his house.

According to the video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Jeff Owolewa TV on Thursday, August 22, 2025, during an interview, he disclosed that Tinubu invited him to his house in Lagos State, and he gave him some money when he was leaving his house in appreciation of his film making prowess.

According to Lere Paimo, he said, “I was featured in a movie that became very popular, and I got my fame through that movie. Tinubu invited me to his house, and he gave me a huge amount of money when I was leaving. He also gave me some money to give to my boss, and he told me how impressed he was with my film making ability. Tinubu asked me to stay with the first lady because I didn’t meet him at home, but he later asked his driver to come and pick me up and take me to his house. When I gave my boss his own share of the money, he was very happy because he has never made that kind of money as an actor.”
