‎In a recent interview with The Sun on Sunday, March 22, 2026, the National Coordinator of the Take Back Nigeria Initiative (TBNI), Abumchukwu Okoye, has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the current economic situation in the country.

‎Okoye said the policies of the Tinubu administration have brought hardship to many Nigerians and noted that rising living costs and economic pressure have left citizens struggling to meet basic needs.

‎According to him, hunger has become a major concern across the country and explained that many families cannot afford regular meals, which affects their health and productivity, he stressed that access to food is essential for people to think clearly and function well in their daily activities.

‎Okoye pointed to the issue of electricity supply, he said stable power remains a key problem that has not been fully addressed and added that without steady electricity, businesses continue to suffer, and economic growth is slowed down.

‎He urged the president to reflect on his policies and make necessary changes before the 2027 elections, he said Nigerians expect leadership that will ease their burdens and improve their standard of living.

‎Okoye maintained that providing food security and reliable electricity should be top priorities for the government and added that these basic needs are important for national development and the well-being of citizens, calling for urgent action to reduce hardship and restore hope among Nigerians.
