According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, elder statesman Alhaji Isa Folorunso Mustapha has criticized those demanding the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
He described such individuals as uninformed and said they have failed to understand the implications of Kanu’s actions on Nigeria’s unity.
In a statement released in Kaduna, Mustapha said those calling for Kanu’s release do not recognize how his activities have endangered peace and stability in the country.
He said their position shows a lack of awareness of the consequences of agitation that seeks to divide Nigeria.
According to him, national unity is not something to be traded or negotiated for political or personal gain.
He stated that the peace and coexistence of all Nigerians must come before any sectional or regional interest.
Mustapha noted that the agitation for secession had caused tension and mistrust among citizens, especially in the South-East region.
He urged Nigerians to learn from the past and work together to promote understanding and unity instead of division.
He warned that allowing divisive ideas to grow would only serve the interests of external powers that want to weaken Nigeria.
He therefore appealed to political leaders, youth groups, and traditional rulers to stand firm in defense of the nation’s unity.
”Those agitating for the release of Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu, are an uninformed group who did not take into consideration the activities of Kanu against the unity of the country. The unity of Nigeria and that of Nigerians is not negotiable,” he said. See, More, Here>>>
