The mother to one of the fourteen children who were abducted in Ogun state recently reacted to the rescue of her son. In her statements which drew widespread attention from the general public, she pointed out that they changed her son’s name and her son was unable to recognize her.

The news regarding the abduction of several children by a couple and an elderly woman in Ogun state stirred mixed reactions from different quarters after the reports went viral across various social media platforms. A supposed bricklayer identified as Lukman was arrested alongside his wife and a 62-year-old grandmother identified as Sabira Izuorah after over fourteen children were found in their custody.

In the aftermath of the arrest of the suspects, the mother to one the the rescued victims identified as Mrs Babalola Salome in a recent statement which was made available to the general public by news outlet, VANGUARD today being Monday the 20th day of January 2025 narrated what she found out after she was reunited with her son.

According to the woman, her son was unable to recognize her when they met and his name was changed from David to Chijoke by his captors.

‘In her words’

“They’ve changed the name of my son from David to Chijoke.

“I give thanks to God. He was 2 and half years when he was abducted but he’s over five years now.

“He didn’t really recognize me again. But you know, I recognized him immediately I set my eyes on him.” She said.
