Israel’s representative at the United Nations, Danny Danon, has urged world powers to stop sitting on the fence over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Speaking during Fox News’ Big Close-Up, Danon made it clear that Israel sees itself as the frontline defender against what he described as a global threat.
“We expect moral clarity,” Danon declared. “Moral clarity means that the world will understand that we are actually doing the dirty work for the entire democracies all around the world.”
He said for too long, Iran has operated under a cloak of deceit, while the international community remained passive. According to him, Israel is no longer willing to take chances.
He recalled a moment during a recent Security Council session, saying, “I looked at the Iranian ambassador and I told him: I believe you when your leaders say that you want to exterminate the State of Israel. We believe you when you say you want to build a nuclear bomb. We believe you.”
Danon insisted the threat posed by Tehran is not just local but global, warning that Iranian missiles could soon target cities far beyond the Middle East. “Today, those ballistic missiles are flying to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. They can reach New York City and Miami. Give them a few months — they will have the technology and the ability to do that,” he warned.
He claimed Israel’s ongoing strikes are meant to prevent Iran from acquiring not just nuclear capabilities but missile power that could rival the U.S. and Russia. “They are actually building a ballistic missile power, which can compete with the U.S. and Russia combined. That’s their intention. What we are doing now — we are blocking those ambitions.”
