The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched a scathing critique of his political detractors, claiming vindication following a wave of defections that has thinned the ranks of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership.

Speaking during the 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party in Abuja, and later in an interview with Channels Television on Monday, March 23, 2026, Wike addressed long-standing allegations that he has been acting as a mole for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He noted that the strength of the opposition has been bolstered by former PDP allies who could not withstand electoral defeat.

The minister suggested that the shifting political landscape has revealed the realities of true alliances, contrasting his decision to remain in the PDP while serving in an APC-led cabinet with those who officially crossed the carpet.

With the 2027 general elections on the horizon, Wike urged PDP members to remain resilient and ignore the narrative that the party cannot win in states currently controlled by the APC.
