According to a report by The Nation, former Niger State Governor, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has described ongoing efforts to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu as a mission impossible. Speaking during a two-day brainstorming session in Kaduna, Aliyu said while many opposition voices are calling for the removal of the ruling party, they have failed to provide a clear and convincing alternative. He warned that political change without a concrete plan could lead to more instability.

Aliyu also addressed the controversy over zoning and power rotation in Nigeria. He questioned the logic of candidates who publicly declare they will only serve one term, noting that such pledges contradict constitutional norms and often lack sincerity. He stressed that any decision to alter the current power structure should be well thought out to avoid undermining democratic balance and national unity.

In response to claims of northern marginalization, Aliyu defended President Tinubu’s appointments, pointing out that the North currently holds several strategic positions, including the National Security Adviser and multiple ministerial roles. He further urged federal appointees to improve communication with the public, arguing that many achievements of the current administration go unnoticed due to poor public engagement.
