According to a report from 5:49 by Channels TV, on Saturday March 14, 2026, Residents of the Bazin community in the Kubwa area are living in a state of heightened fear following a daring raid by heavily armed gunmen that saw the abduction of several young children and a nursing mother.

The incident, which took place in a rapidly developing but underserved section of the Federal Capital Territory, has left a three-week-old infant motherless and several families shattered.

The gunmen reportedly moved with precision, targeting specific households. One male resident, visibly shaken while speaking to reporters, described the harrowing moment the attackers seized the most vulnerable members of the community.

“They came and kidnapped just little children of between four to eight years. They came, they took all of them away,” the resident stated.

The cruelty of the attack was further underscored by the abduction of a woman who had given birth less than a month ago. In a move that has sparked outrage across the district, the kidnappers took the mother but abandoned her newborn baby.

“Then the other woman who who is having a child of just about 3 weeks, they also took her and left the young baby at home,” the resident shared.

The Bazin area is characterized by its hilly and rugged terrain, which locals say has become a “safe haven” for criminal elements.

Despite the growth of the population, security infrastructure has failed to keep pace, leaving the community feeling exposed and forgotten by the authorities.

The community is now calling for a permanent security outpost, as the nearest police division is currently too distant to provide a rapid response during emergencies.
