In an interview on Arise News from 1:23, an elderly nun responded to sexual assault allegations made by Rev. Sr. Annastasia Kinse, challenging the claims while emphasizing accountability and the importance of evidence. The exchange has sparked reactions within the religious community, highlighting both the seriousness of the allegations and the congregation’s insistence on substantiation.

The elderly nun recounted the congregation’s long-standing support for Kinse, including sending her to the University of Abuja and entrusting her with leadership responsibilities within the community. According to the nun, these actions were intended to demonstrate love, trust, and hope in Kinse as a promising member of the congregation.

She expressed disappointment over what she described as betrayal by sisters who had “turned to evil,” stressing that accusations must be supported by proof before the congregation can act decisively. While insisting on the seriousness of sexual harassment allegations, she framed the congregation’s support as conditional on evidence that validates the claims.

The nun also highlighted the high standards and responsibilities that Kinse held as a local superior, noting that her leadership role reflected the trust and respect she had earned. The congregation, she explained, remains committed to justice, but only in cases backed by verifiable documentation or witnesses.

In her words:

“These sisters that have turned to evil, demons, we are the ones, according to the letter they wrote, sent you to university, not any other university but University of Abuja—to show you that they love you, trusted you, hoped in you, and see you as the light of their congregation. They made you a local superior of a community. Sister, we will be at war front to bring justice to whatever sexual harassment you may claim that happened to you. We will be at war front for you if only you bring out evidences, proofs that show that, yes, it occurred.” See, More, Here>>>
