Factional APC Chairman in Rivers State, Emeka Beke, has accused an unnamed individual of monopolizing power in the state, arguing that this concentration of authority is hindering Rivers State’s development.
Speaking in an interview with News Central TV from 7:12, Beke declined to identify the specific person while making pointed references to their perceived dominance over state affairs. “There’s one person who believes that he is the alpha and omega in this state and believes that he has all the power in the world. That’s the person. You should be able to know who I’m talking about. I’m not here to mention anybody’s name,” he stated.
The factional chairman suggested that the identity of this individual should be obvious to observers of Rivers State politics. “If you’re not a resident of Rivers, you should know what’s been happening in this country. You should know what’s been happening in this state. And that is just where we are today. And that’s why the state is really behind time,” he said.
Emeka Beke rejected claims that his dispute with factional APC Chairman Tony Okocha in Rivers State stems from personal animosity. He clarified that during Okocha’s tenure as Chief of Staff to former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, there were no personal conflicts between them.
According to Beke, his opposition to Okocha’s current position is not based on individual grievances but rather on what he characterized as illegal procedures that led to Okocha’s appointment as factional chairman. He emphasized that his concerns are institutional rather than personal in nature.
