APC governorship aspirant Valentine Ozigbo has made explosive claims regarding the political dynamics in Anambra State, suggesting that supporters perceive President Tinubu as favoring Governor Charles Soludo’s reelection as a strategy to counter Peter Obi’s influence in the state.

In an interview with Arise TV from 8:27, he highlighted his own political journey and the significant impact of his party switch compared to his rivals..”I was invited by almost all the TV stations to talk about why I moved. But Nicholas moved just a month before me, and nobody recognized that he even moved; nobody did,” Ozigbo stated. “So, I went in there with huge momentum, and I’m already adding value to APC. A lot of people don’t actually detest APC of the past in Anambra State. My moving into APC changed the trajectory.”

The aspirant then addressed circulating rumors about political calculations at the presidential level. “There is an allegation that the President wants Soludo to come back because of Peter Obi; he sees him as an opponent of Obi, and therefore there’s some understanding that Soludo will return, and even if that is correct, that is an inferior proposition,” he said.

He suggested that Governor Soludo may have presented himself as a bulwark against the Labour Party. “Soludo must have gone to whoever to say, like they’re saying now, that APC is weak; his problem is Labour, and so support me in APGA so that I will come back because you don’t want Labour to win in Anambra State,” he claimed.

The former Labour Party member contended that his own party switch had transformed APC’s electoral prospects. “APC is weak, Labour is strong, who in Labour? Valentine Ozigbo. By me leaving Labour to join APC, APC is strong today, and this is why I’m fighting this battle,” he explained.

He concluded with a sharp critique of what he perceives as political double-dealing by the incumbent: “If you go to the real people in APC, they will understand the battle I’m fighting. I don’t want this type of deal where Soludo is APGA in the afternoon and APC in the night, and so you create a confusion; you’re not strengthening the party, you’re not helping anybody.”
