According to the report from the Daily Post, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr Babachir Lawal expressed his dissatisfaction with the perceived dominance of the South West region in the current government, claiming that over 80% of revenue-generating and spending ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) are controlled by South West indigenes.
He further pointed out that this regional favoritism extends to the National Assembly, where key committees are predominantly chaired by South West indigenes.
He criticized this disproportionate influence, likening the South West indigenes to conquerors and portraying the rest of Nigerians as prisoners of war.
He said, “The South West dominates this government excessively and obnoxiously. More than eighty percent of the revenue generation and spending MDAs are held by indigenes of the South West. The same occurs in the National Assembly where the most important committees are chaired by indigenes of the South West. These people behave like conquerors and are treating the rest of us Nigerians as prisoners of war.”….Sêe_Morē
