Lere Olayinka, the Media Aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka has taken to social media to issue a response to allegations made by Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the FCT in the National Assembly.

In a tweet posted on Friday, July 18, 2025, Olayinka criticized Senator Kingibe for what he described as political theatrics, challenging her to publicly present any documents she claims to have implicating Wike in corrupt land deals.

“Responsible and serious people don’t go on National TV to say ‘I have evidence of corruption by Govt officials,'” Olayinka wrote. “They display whatever evidence they have, release them to the public and forward same to relevant anti-corruption agencies.”

Referring to Senator Kingibe as an “accidental senator,” Olayinka further accused her of using Wike’s name as a political tool in anticipation of the 2027 elections.

He also questioned the legitimacy of her continued use of the name “Kingibe,” suggesting she was “impersonating” by bearing the surname of a man she is no longer married to.

“She should go back to the TV station and display the documents she claimed to have on the FCT Minister,” he said.

Olayinka stated that her Senate seat, which she secured in 2023, would not be retained in 2027.

He added, “Like I have said, the Senate seat she got accidentally in 2023 won’t be retained in 2027, using Wike as a launchpad. The earlier she knows and accept this, the better for Madam Impersonator.”

The online statement follows a controversial appearance by Senator Ireti Kingibe on Arise Television, where she accused Minister Wike of allocating lands in the FCT to his sons and granting them illegal waivers.

According to the senator, Wike slashed land title bill charges from N200 million to just N2 million for his sons within a span of 48 hours.

She also alleged a broader pattern of favoritism and illegal concessions in land allocation under the minister’s oversight.

Senator Kingibe claimed she has documentary evidence to support her accusations and stated that the FCT Minister had prioritized family interests over due process in the administration of land-related matters.
