The former governor of Rivers State and minister for transportation Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi recently revealed the reasons why he was not supportive of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid. According to his statements which were shared by VANGUARD, he pointed out that he did not agree with the former president’s leadership style.

Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State recently caused a stir after he revealed the reasons why former president Goodluck Jonathan’s second term ambitions stalled. This came amid the recent mass defections from the PDP to the ruling APC in the South-South region, a move which many believed will strengthen president Tinubu’s re-election bid.

According to his statements which were shared by VANGUARD, he pointed out that he was not impressed with the former president’s leadership style and that was the reasons why he worked against him.

However, he agreed that Goodluck Jonathan’s leadership might be better than former president Muhammadu Buhari who eventually won and appointed him a minister.

“The reason for removing Goodluck, I will say this in my book, is that I didn’t agree with his leadership style. You may agree that his leadership might have been better than Buhari, but do not forget that by the time he was leaving office, the dollar had started rising to between N150 and N200.” he said.

The recent statements from the former governor however, stirred mixed reactions from the general public as many believe that his actions were anti-party activities, a syndrome common to the People’s Democratic Party.
