Ikenga Ugochinyere, a PDP member and House of Representatives member, has criticized a faction within the APC, which he describes as the “pro-Wike group.” This group, according to him, includes individuals like Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Plateau, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, and others, including Damagun, who he claims are working to weaken the PDP.
He argued that these figures believe that by undermining the PDP in favor of the APC, they may secure APC support to win their own elections, even if it means jeopardizing the future of their own party. He sees this as a serious threat to the survival of the PDP.
He said in an interview with Arise TV from 10:55, “The problem is the pro Wike group where you have Wike, Governor Mutfwang of Plateau, Governor Makinde of Oyo, Governor Fintiri of Adamawa, Damagun and all those other people who believe that if you pin down PDP for the APC, maybe APC in return will allow them to win their own election, to the detriment of the survival of the party.”
