Lawyer and one of the chieftains of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo has reacted after the Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman stated that students must attain the age of 18 years before writing NECO and JAMB.

In a post that Kenneth Okonkwo shared on his page on Thursday, he said the statement that was made by the Minister of Education is unfortunate and undesirable.

Kenneth Okonkwo said the policy is personal to him because he completed his secondary school education at the age of 15 years.

Here is what Kenneth Okonkwo wrote on his official X handle;

“Prof Tahir Mamman, the Minister of Education’s statement that students must attain the age of 18 years before writing NECO and JAMB, is unfortunate and undesirable.

This policy is personal to me because I completed my secondary school education at the age of 15 years plus and made excellent grades. The policy of jamb then was that every student must attain the age of 16 years before writing JAMB”.
