FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has once again stirred political waters with a viral video clip in which he dismisses rumors of a major fallout with the suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, whom he referred to as his political son.

The video, posted by his media aide Lere Olayinka, shows Wike responding to a question about his alleged battle with Fubara. Laughing off the suggestion, Wike said, “No, that one is not battle. I’m not fighting battle. That boy is my boy, he is my son. How can I fight battle with him?”

Wike then clarified who he believes are the real enemies within the Rivers political fold. In his words: “The people I am fighting are the thieves that want to reap from where they did not sow. You don’t know them; they want to hijack the way.” He accused former political figures including Celestine Omehia, Abiye Sekibo, and Austin Okpara of attempting to seize power and influence they did not earn.

“They want to steal what they did not work for,” Wike added, emphasizing that his confrontation is not with his protégé, but with what he described as a group of political opportunists attempting to hijack the governance structure of Rivers State.

The statement comes amid ongoing tension in Rivers politics, with internal rifts widening between allies and former loyalists in the aftermath of the recent political shakeups.
