Presidential spokesperson Daniel Bwala has revealed the reason he has distanced himself from a former political associate, saying it has nothing to do with personal rivalry but with the people in the associate’s inner circle.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Bwala said, “The only reason I can’t work with him is that everyone around him is evil.” While he did not directly name the person in question, his comments came in response to a question about his strained relationship with certain opposition figures.

Bwala claimed that toxic influences within the individual’s team have turned what could have been a constructive political collaboration into a hostile environment. He alleged that these associates thrive on propaganda, misinformation, and personal attacks, making any working relationship impossible.

Turning to national politics, Bwala defended President Bola Tinubu’s record, insisting that the current administration is making progress despite economic challenges. He cited the federal government’s reforms in infrastructure, agriculture, and investment as proof of a long-term vision for growth.

On allegations of ethnic bias in appointments, Bwala maintained that Tinubu has distributed positions fairly across the six geopolitical zones. He pointed out that the Vice President, the National Security Adviser, and several key ministers are from outside the southwest, dismissing claims of “Eurobanization” as baseless.

Bwala also criticised opposition leaders for focusing on personality politics rather than offering policy-based solutions. He said Nigerians deserve leaders who prioritise unity and development over division and political score-settling.

He concluded by reaffirming his loyalty to the president’s agenda, saying the administration’s priority remains economic stability, inclusive governance, and safeguarding national security.
