PDP Chieftain Umar Sani has accused Federal High Court Judge Justice Omotosho of introducing extraneous issues into a case concerning the PDP’s scheduled convention.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust from 8:19, Sani argued that the court overstepped its jurisdiction by addressing an issue that was not part of the original complaint. “The judgment, I would say—with due respect—is premeditated. The judge went into another issue and said that Anyanwu did not sign the letter seeking for a convention. But in their report, which the PDP sought and collected, actually confirmed that he signed. And because he knew that there was a problem that would escalate, he now came out to say his signature was forged,” he stated.
Sani challenged the notion that the party would forge a signature, pointing to the PDP’s track record. “In the history of the PDP, there is nobody whose signature has ever been forged by the party. So why would it be Anyanwu’s signature that would be forged?” he asked.
The PDP chieftain noted that Anyanwu’s, whose signature was in question, had not initially raised any concerns about forgery.
According to him, Anyanwu only began claiming his signature was forged after realizing the implications, subsequently threatening to report the matter to the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services.
However, Sani emphasized that since forgery was never part of Anyanwu’s original complaint, the judge should not have considered it, reinforcing his assertion that the judgment was predetermined. View, More,
