Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has called for a united effort by the Islamic world to escalate its opposition to the State of Israel, commonly referred to as the “Zionist regime.”
In a statement posted on his verified Twitter account, Khamenei urged Islamic nations to reduce their political ties with Israel and intensify media campaigns against it. He emphasized the importance of demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinian people, who have faced decades of conflict and occupation.
“The Islamic world must reduce political relations with the Zionist regime, increase attacks on it in the media, and clearly show that they are standing firmly with the oppressed Palestinian people,” Khamenei’s statement read.
This call comes at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, as clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian groups have drawn international attention. Khamenei has long been a vocal critic of Israel and a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause, consistently advocating for the liberation of Palestine from Israeli control.
Khamenei’s statement also reflects broader efforts by Iran to rally regional and international support for Palestine, urging Islamic countries to take a firm stand in diplomatic and media spheres. Iran has historically supported Palestinian factions like Hamas and Islamic Jihad, framing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a central issue for the Muslim world.
