Augustina Ifiok, a Lagos resident, has shared her harrowing experience of being robbed by armed men near the Abiola Gardens bridge.

Speaking with Channels TV from 8:27, she detailed how the thieves confronted her, took all her belongings, and escaped without any interference from bystanders or security personnel.

Augustina noted that the incident occurred late at night while she was on her way home. She had just approached the bridge when two men suddenly stopped her.

“I was about to cross the Abiola Gardens bridge when some guys stopped me and demanded everything I had. I had no choice but to cooperate because one of them showed me a sharp cutlass. The tension was high, and I was so scared. I couldn’t even dare to look at the weapon the other one beside me was holding,” she recalled.

When asked if anyone nearby noticed the robbery, Augustina explained that the area was dark, making it easy for the criminals to act without being seen.

“The guys were robbing me under the bridge, yet no one noticed. The area was dark, and there were no police around,” she said.

She added that she had hoped someone might intervene, but the environment worked in favor of the thieves, allowing them to carry out the robbery unnoticed.

Since the robbery, Augustina has made it a point to avoid the bridge entirely. She admitted that the fear from that night still lingers, and she does not want to risk another encounter with criminals.
